Tim Solinger is a career positioning and content strategist, a resume and LinkedIn profile writer, and a seminar, workshop and instructional program developer and presenter. He owns and operates Great Impressions Resume & Career Services, LLC, which he founded in 2007, and serves a growing network of clients across the Upper Midwest and throughout the United States from his location in Stevens Point, Wis.

In drawing on a diverse background in career services, content development and marketing communications, Tim assists clients with positioning or personal branding techniques in crafting outcome-based, value-projecting, keyword-rich resumes and LinkedIn profiles, as well as with other documents and services including interview preparation. He works with clients that include new and recent graduates, members of the skilled trades, and professionals, managers and executives across industries and employment sectors that include banking, construction, education, government, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, science and technology, and transportation and logistics.

Tim is a former adjunct resume writer with TheLadders, where he gained extensive experience working with executive-level clients both nationally and internationally. He has been interviewed about resume trends and best practices by media outlets that include the Stevens Point Journal, U.S. News & World Report, WAOW-TV 9 (Wausau, Wis.), WSAW-TV 7 (Wausau, Wis.) and WEAU-TV 13 (Eau Claire, Wis.). He is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.A. degree in English with two years of additional coursework at the graduate school level at the UI in English education, culminating in the earning of a secondary teaching certification.

Tim has created and presented seminars, workshops and instructional programs on resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile development and interviewing preparation at Mid-State Technical College at its campuses in Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield and Stevens Point, Wis., and he has presented seminars on resume writing at a number of public libraries across Wisconsin. Earlier in his career, he taught writing at Mount Vernon Community High School in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and through the continuing education program at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley in Menasha, Wis. In addition, he is an approved contractual career services provider with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and is a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) through the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches.
